| Sampling Factors: |
Location (Not Relevant: All projects are conducted at the same location.)
Customer (Not Relevant: Projects do not change how they operate as a function of the customers. All projects follow the standard product development processes regardless of customer.)
Size: Projects receive different resources as a function of size and scope, therefore some processes are differently executed. However, size is always consistent with technology. E.g., smaller projects are typically self-contained systems or system components and larger projects are typically systems of systems integration efforts.
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: All projects report through a similar organizational structure.)
Type of Work (Not Relevant: Some specialized development processes are tied to the technology involved. Also, very small (component) projects use slightly different engineering approaches, but otherwise, the overall processes are the same.) |
