Location (Not Relevant: R&D department is at Hefei location and only this location is considered in appraisal so, location is not a differentiator and does not make any material difference to the way processes are applied.)
Customer (Not Relevant: OU is engaged in developing projects/products for power, telecommunications, universities and other industries. Standard process is defined at organization level and is tailored for various customers. So ‘CUSTOMER’ factor is not considered for project selection.)
Size (Not Relevant: All projects are of typically similar staff. Also, as per company policy, all projects should follow all processes irrespective of project team size. Hence “Size” is not considered for project selection.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: R&D department is considered OU and no other department or function engaged in software development so Org structure is not considered as Sampling Factor.)
Type of Work: At present various types of projects are going on 1. Pure Software Platform. 2. S/W to control Hardware and 3. Big data. Requirements analysis, verification and validation process differ with above types of projects and hence “Type of work” is considered as sampling factor. |
