Location (Not Relevant: Only one location – Beijing.)
Customer (Not Relevant: Customers of the OU are all enterprise of finance industries. The OU develops and deliveries same set of products to different customers using same set of processes.)
Size (Not Relevant: Almost all projects (refer to “Type of Work”) have moderate size and a small team about 10 people. Project size does not influence process implementation in the OU and is not considered an important management factor.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: The OU consists of several departments that are organized by functional factor. Project team contains people from those functional departments.)
Type of Work: Generally, software product development and upgrade works organized and managed as project. There are also some urgent defect-fix or enhancement tasks for existing products. Maintenance will not be included because it follows a simple process, thus is less meaningful for the process improvement.
Product Type: Products are separated into two categories. The technologies and processes used for different category of product may vary to some extent. |
