| Sampling Factors: |
Location (Not Relevant: The standard process and tailoring guidelines apply to all locations. There is one other facility a few miles away which houses some of the personnel of one sampled project due to capacity limitations in the main facility, but that project uses the organizational process at all locations.)
Customer (Not Relevant: All of the projects in scope are for the same customer: CMS.)
Size (Not Relevant: The standard process and tailoring guidelines apply to all project sizes. All o the projects in scope are roughly the same size.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: All the systems and software development and maintenance projects in the organizational scope are managed in a single division of the company)
Type of Work (Not Relevant: The type of work is either development or maintenance. Since maintenance may often involve development to include new features or changed requirements, the same process is used for either type of work. The projects in the organizational scope involve both simple maintenance and development.)
Single Subgroup: All projects in the organizational unit operate in similar contexts, deliver similar work products, and report within the same management structure, therefore one subgroup has been identified. |
