Location (Not Relevant: All software development and management activities are conducted at one location in Beijing, China.)
Customer (Not Relevant: Although OU provides solutions and systems to 2 types of customers such as General IT enterprise and Academic circles organization, works for all customers are performed follow the same processes without substantial tailoring. Hence customer is not relevant sampling factor.)
Size (Not Relevant: All projects use the same process regardless of size and size does not alter the basic steps of the standard process and the life cycle model. In addition, all projects within OU are small to medium.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: All projects are conducted within the one department, have the same basic and similar structure with project manager, developers, supporting-members, and share the same organization standard processes without substantial tailoring. Consequently organizational structure does not cause significant variations in the performance of processes.)
Type of Work: There are two types of applications such as Business intelligence & analytics software development and large-scale academic resource management solution software development, which both have some impacts to development environments, procedures and templates used by the development teams respectively in the OU. |
