Sampling Summary:
Sampling Factors: Location (Not Relevant: All development and services are performed and/or managed from one location – TennCare Offices in Nashville, TN. Therefore there are no differences driven by location in how the processes are performed.)
Customer (Not Relevant: The only customer for the development and services is the TennCare organization in TN, therefore there are no differences driven by customer differences.)
Size (Not Relevant: The same processes and activities are performed for any development project and any claims processing services, therefore size is not a factor driving any differences in the work.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: All parts of the DXC TennCare Account use the same processes and perform the same activities for development or services, respectively, therefore there is not difference driven by organizational structure.)
Type of Work: There are three primary types of work performed that drive differences: Projects, Maintenance and Mod Development, and Claims Processing Services.
Lifecycle/Approach: Within the development work performed there are three possible lifecycles that can be used that drive differences in performing the work these include Modifed-Agile, Waterfall-Standard and Technical Updates.
Sampling Factor Values: Matenance and Mods (Type of Work): Maintenance and Mods are performed for small updates and development work performed as maintenance or small modifications.
Project (Type of Work): Projects are large development efforts, as defined by the TennCare customer. These involve the most rigorous planning and management activities.
Operations Claims Processing (Type of Work): There is one type of work performed for the services work at TennCare which is Operations Claims Processing. This involves processing of any form of TennCare claims to ensure they are entered into the automated claims processing systems.
Modified Agile (Lifecycle/Approach): This is a lifecycle only currently used for Maintenance and Mods and changes how some of the development phases are performed and the outputs expected from each activity performed.
Waterfall/Standard (Lifecycle/Approach): This life cycle is currently used with both Maintenance and Mods and Projects and is the traditional development lifecycle defined and expected by the TennCare customer.
Technical Update (TUP) (Lifecycle/Approach): TUPs are only used for Maintenance and Mods and are used for very small changes requested by the TennCare customer. The same overall processes are used but it is a more streamlined approach because of the smaller degree of work and risk associated.
