| Sampling Factors: |
Location (Not Relevant: All projects used the same Quality System independently of the location or customer.)
Customer (Not Relevant: All projects used the same Quality System independently of the location or customer.)
Size: Two types of project based on size (reduced Life Cycle and Full Life Cycle).
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: All projects used the same Quality System independently of Organizational Structure.)
Type of Work: The type of work is a sampling factor because the quality system describes different tools, methods and documentation to be used depending on the type of work (Development and Maintenance). |
| Sampling Factor Values: |
Full Life Cycle (Size): Set of phases divided into initial phase, iterative part and final phase. The iterative part includes: objectives, analysis, design, development, product integration and delivery. The two main criteria for consider a full life cycle are 1) the size of the estimated hours and 2) management complexity. Example of project with full life cycle: more than 2000 estimated hours and high level of managem
Reduce Life Cycle (Size): Reduced Life Cicle can exclude some of the iterative parts or activities when we are in projects with less than 2000 estimated hours or easy/medium management complexity.
Development (Type of Work): May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities that result in software products.
Maintenance (Type of Work): Modification of a software product after delivery to correct faults and/or to improve performance. |
