Location (Not Relevant: Only one location, Luoyang)
Customer (Not Relevant: The products of the OU are all data analysis software. Although customers cover finance and telecom industries, all customers use the OU’s same products. The OU perform same types of work using same process set for all customers.)
Size (Not Relevant: Almost all projects (refer to “Type of Work”) are moderate size around 30-60MM in the OU. Project size does not influence process implementation in the OU and is not considered a management factor.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: The OU is just a development team with less than 30 people distributed in several projects.)
Type of Work: Generally, software development works organized and managed as projects. Also some urgent defect-fix or enhancement to existing software system. The projects can also be separated into 2 categories because of the different process implementation on requirement, design, test, and delivery. Task will not be included because it follows a simple process, thus is less meaningful for the process improvement. |
