Location (Not Relevant: Only one location – Beijing.)
Customer (Not Relevant: Although the customers are in various industries, the OU provides products and services for different customers without discrimination.)
Size (Not Relevant: Most of the project are moderate size. Size is not considered a critical factor in project management, although some minor tailoring to the OSSP base on project size may occur sometimes.)
Organizational Structure: The OU is physically two development divisions of the organization, and each division is responsible for one type of software project (Refer to “Type of Work”). People in each development division are distributed in different development projects dynamically.
Type of Work: Generally, development works organized and managed as projects. Projects are divided into two types: one type focus on the continuous development of the main independent product of the company, another type develop system based on the requirements of specific customer. These two types of project are performed using significantly tailored processes, especially on product planning, requirement acquisition, development, verification, and acceptance. |
