Sampling Factors: Location (Not Relevant: Rather than “location” per se, the real relevant sampling factor is Client Innovation Center or “CIC.” See Organizational Structure.)
Customer (Not Relevant: The processes used to perform the work do not vary by customer.)
Size (Not Relevant: The size of the project has little impact on the work being performed. Some tailoring is applied to scale the work appropriately, but the same basic processes are used.)
Organizational Structure: Although OPAL (On Demand Process Asset Libray) is employed across all the centers, each CIC is empowered to introduce local tailoring. Although most of the local modifications are relatively insignificant, any representative sample of work should include basic units from each CIC anyway, so Organizational Structure is being designated as a relevant sampling factor.
Type of Work: Projects fall into two types: the vast majority are Traditional Development/Maintenance projects; a small number of Blended/Agile projects are also being executed in a few CICs.
Sampling Factor Values: Mexico CIC (Organizational Structure): Offices in Guadalajara, Mexico City (2), and Monterrey
Brazil CIC (Organizational Structure): Offices in Sao Paulo (2), Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Hortolandia, Rio de Janeiro (2), and Brasilia
SSA CIC (Organizational Structure): Spanish South America Offices in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Egypt CIC (Organizational Structure): Office in Cairo
China CIC (Organizational Structure): Offices in Shanghai (2), Dalian, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Wuhan, and Beijing
CIC Europe (Organizational Structure): Office in Romania, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Slovakia
Philippines CIC (Organizational Structure): Offices in Quezon City (2) and Cebu City
India CIC (Organizational Structure): Offices in Bangalore (4), Chennai, Gurgaon (3), Hyderabad (2), Kolkata(3), Kalva, Mumbai, Nodia (2), and Pune (3)
Traditional Development/Maintenance (Type of Work): Traditional life cycle development and maintenance projects
Blended/Agile (Type of Work): Projects that involve an emerging trend toward Agile development (primarily Scrum)
