Location (Not Relevant: Development activities are conducted at one location in Hangzhou)
Customer (Not Relevant: All projects follow the same processes with approved tailoring)
Size (Not Relevant: Size does not alter the life cycle model or project process within the two types of work. Maintenance projects can be different size depending on the customer request. The subgroup sample size can reasonably cover all sizes of maintenance requests.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: Org structure (see Org chart) is a single tree structure, all underneath a single site Sponsor)
Type of Work: Type of work is the key distinguishing factor between the projects. There are three types of work covered in this OU: development and maintenance Projects start their life as new development and when completed pass into a Maintenance phase for one year. Maintenance (Type of Work): Add, modify and delete some functions on existing system. Projects that have completed their initial development activities then pass into a maintenance phase. This subgroup comprises all these maintenance & upgrade projects.
Development (Type of Work): Develop all functional modules in new project. This subgroup comprises all projects that execute their initial development activities. |
