Location (Not Relevant: Only one location – Chengdu.)
Customer (Not Relevant: Although the customers are in different domain like government, military, and banks, the OU provides security products for different customer without discrimination.)
Size (Not Relevant: Project size does not influence process implementation in the OU and is not considered a management factor.)
Organizational Structure: The OU is physically two development teams, and each one has about 50 people distributed in different projects.
Type of Work: Generally, development works organized and managed as projects, and defect-fix works to existing product are also very common. Life cycle processes of projects may be different due to new product or product upgrade. Defect-fix will not be included because it follows a very simple process, thus is less meaningful for the process improvement. |
