| Sampling Factors: |
Location (Not Relevant: Single location)
Customer (Not Relevant: Requirements are based on tenders / requirements specifications released by the Indian Government against which the software has to be developed. Customers do not have any specific requirements for the process / lifecycle to be followed. The projects are essentially in the same domain – telecommunications and as such there is no impact on the process that is followed. Thus, all projects follow the same process irrespective of customer.)
Size (Not Relevant: The projects are fairly small – none of the projects in the unit had an estimated effort beyond 450 person days. Thus, there is no differentiation by size in terms of the process to be followed.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: This is one group where all follow the same process)
Type of Work (Not Relevant: Since the application domain for all projects is similar and the requirements are specified upfront all projects follow the same lifecycle – thus, there is no change in the process to be followed based on the type of work.)
Projects: In the absence of other sampling factors for differentiation between projects, Projects [‘Development’ and ‘Other’] has been taken. Other is a ‘NULL’ set. |
