Location (Not Relevant: Only one location – Nanjing.)
Customer (Not Relevant: The company provide same set of product models for all customers that are all Rail-bound vehicle manufacturer.)
Size (Not Relevant: Project and team size are all moderate and do not significantly influence process implementation in the OU and are not considered a management factor.)
Organizational Structure: The product development staff are divided into 2 product development departments and each one is responsible for one product. There is also one department that provides test, management, and other support function for the product development teams.
Type of Work: All works are organized as development project that develop a EDCU or a PSD model, that are two types of products of the OU.
Project Type: Projects are categorized into A, B, and C 3 types by the OU mainly based on whether the product model is new or enhanced, and whether new technologies are applied. Process implementation may vary for different project type. Most projects of this OU are C-Type. |

EDCU Development Project (Type of Work): Project that develop a EDCU product model.
PSD Development Project (Type of Work): Project that develop a PSD product model.
A (Project Type): projects that create a new product model using new architecture, new materials, and new technologies, with significant influence on the business.
B (Project Type): projects that enhance a product model using new materials and new technologies to apparently improve its performance.
C (Project Type): projects that create a derived model based on current product model with same technologies. |
