Maint (Type of Work): Projects of IT maintenance nature.Subgroups: SSU – Dev: This subgroup is responsible for developing IT applications. Development methodology is decided and typically involves 1. Requirements 2. Software architecture and design 3. Coding (daily build and smoke test) 4. Review 5. Testing Configuration management (CM) activities are carried out in Rational Team Concert (RTC). System support activities are carried out by resolving problems entered in the application defect tracking system.

SSU – Maint: This subgroup is responsible for maintaining IT applications. Maintenance projects follow a five stage path: 1. Review of Maintenance/modification requests, which are classified as perfective, adaptive or corrective 2. Impact Analysis of maintenance/modification request 3. Implementation 4. System testing 5. Acceptance Configuration and change management are on higher priority with regard to parallel maintenance of many product variants and older releases.
