| Sampling Factors: |
Location (Not Relevant: Even though AMSTO has three main offices (Norfolk, VA, Alexandria, VA and FL) at the time of this SCAMPI, they use one PAL and have a common PI training plan execution for all employees regardless of location, size or type of project.)
Customer (Not Relevant: AMSTO is not organized by Customers for process development, compliance, or variations.)
Size (Not Relevant: Though some projects may have a longer period of performance (PoP) than others or vary in effort, the typical AMSTO Project has approximately 10 FTEs. The smaller projects are usually part of a larger program effort and involve the integration stages of development. Size does not drive any differences in the way work is performed or processes that are followed.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: AMSTO has four (4) major divisions but work is interchangeable and employees are moved among the organization to provide flexibility and agility to either maintain existing contracts or capture new ones, hence the one PAL and standardized training programs.)
Type of Work (Not Relevant: AMSTO has full cycle software development and maintenance projects. Even when simulation maintenance is performed, the full development cycle is utilized in order to accommodate the overall modeling and simulation efforts. The scope of this appraisal is limited to DEV projects and hence no other types of work are included. Not relevant.)
All Work: Empty Set – Includes all software development work in AMSTO. This is included to facilitate the creation of a single sub-group in SAS. |
