| Sampling Factors: |
Location (Not Relevant: Only location for work is in Beijing for Software Center. Thus, location is not a differentiator and does not make any material difference to the way processes are applied by the OU – Software Center.)
Customer (Not Relevant: As the same SDLC and lifecycle processes are used for customers, the customer is not a differentiator. Hence, the customer served by the OU – Software Center does not affect the way processes are executed or the way work is performed.)
Size (Not Relevant: The basic units are of similar sized team members (5-7), thus size factor is not a differentiator and does not influence the way processes are implemented by projects executed in the OU – Software Center.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: OU is located in a single location with a single management structure. Thus Organisational Structure is not a differentiator. Hence, Organisational Structure for the OU – Software Center does not make any material difference to the way processes are applied to execute work.)
Type of Work: Software Center executes two types of work that leads to differences in the application of processes. The two types of work involves: a) Greenfield and New Development Projects b) Upgrade and Enhancement Projects. The type of work leads to some differences in processes, particularly affecting RD, REQM, PP, PMC, RSKM, MA, VER, PI and IPM process areas. |
