Location (Not Relevant: Only one location – Beijing.)
Customer (Not Relevant: Customers are in several industries, but the product and service provided to those customers are the same used for security monitoring and checking. The OU actually perform same types of work using same process set for all customers.)
Size: The OU takes project size as a management factor, and process tailoring may vary because of the project size. Most of the projects in the OU are Medium size. Small size project will not be included considering their importance for process improvement and appraisal cost.
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: The OU’s development team is one team with 40 more people distributed in several projects, except some people in functional team like research, test, and management.)
Type of Work: Generally, product development works organized and managed as project. Also some urgent defect-fix or enhancement to existing product. Maintenance will not be included because it follows a simple process, thus is less meaningful for the process improvement. |
