Location (Not Relevant: The OU is in the same geographical location as that of the appraised organization. All the software development activities are carried out from this single location, without any influence of the same on internal processes. Thus, location is not a potential differentiator.)
Customer (Not Relevant: This OU caters to various customers, however the internal processes used by the OU for software application development for any of them do not undergo any change due to this customer variation. Thus, customer type is not a potential differentiator.)
Size (Not Relevant: Most of the projects are of similar sized team members. There is some difference in the effort values across projects, but this in itself does not cause any significant changes to the basic internal processes of the OU. Thus, project size is not a potential differentiator.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: There is a singular management structure in the OU covering software development activities. Moreover, the appropriate internal processes apply at each level of the organizational hierarchy without any deviation from the standard processes. Thus, organizational structure is not a potential differentiator.)
Type of Work (Not Relevant: All projects in this OU deal with software development projects. Although the end-products have varied applications, the type and nature of work is consistent across all projects and there is no significant impact on any processes.)
Technology: Projects in this OU are either JAVA based or SAP based. This has a significant impact on – RD, TS, PI and VER. Also due to the unique methodology adopted by SAS projects PP, PMC, CM, VAL and IPM are also impacted. |
