| Sampling Factors: |
Location (Not Relevant: Even though AMSTO has two main offices and work performed at Gov. sites, (Norfolk VA, Orlando, FL) but the single/one Process Asset Library defined for each type of work., and a common process training plan execution is used all projects, regardless of location, size or type of project.)
Customer (Not Relevant: Customers are various organizations of the U.S. Navy, or DoD. However, the customers don’t drive the AMSTO process development, PAL, or compliance. Some tools used might differ based on type of work and customer)
Size (Not Relevant: Project staff size is not a driver for process variances or any major differences. All DEV projects and SVC work follow the same minimal set of processes as defined in the AMSTO PAL.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: No intrinsic org. structure to differ any process implementation. AMSTO has divisions, however work is interchangeable and employees may be sometimes moved to provide flexibility and agility to maintain existing contracts or capture new ones.)
Type of Work: Processes differ based on the type of project/work done. Two major types of work done in AMSTO are Software Development and Engineering Services. Hence two subgroups are created and this factor is relevant. PAL is already tailored and each type of work has its own set of processes defined. |
