| Sampling Factors: |
Location: The processes followed could be affected by both time zones and cultural factors. Hence “Location” has been taken as a sampling factor with two groups of locations – Asia (Philippines, China and India) and Europe & North America – Madrid and Dallas
Customer (Not Relevant: Not Relevant. The Org Unit has only one Customer viz. Ericsson internal staff. All the Basic units perform HR operations work for all internal staff at Ericsson)
Size (Not Relevant: Not Relevant. For each project, ticket volume is forecast over the forthcoming time period, and the forecast is influenced by the ticket types. Therefore, variances in size are subsumed by type of work)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: Not Relevant. Processes followed do not depend on the organization structure The organization is structured on the basis of the type of work and the locations – (which have been taken as sampling factors). Hence org structure by itself is not a relevant factor)
Type of Work: The types of work being handled by the GSSC – Global Systems Support Centre and the COE – Centres of Excellence are different; the processes followed depend then on the type of work – hence this has been taken as a sampling factor |
