| Sampling Factors: |
Location (Not Relevant: All projects are executed jointly at single locations in India and the USA)
Customer (Not Relevant: Customers have never specified any particular process requirements. Thus, both organizations follow the same global QMS, being part of the same group of companies; this is irrespective of who the customer is.)
Size (Not Relevant: There are different size measures being used depending on the type of lifecycle being followed in the project – the process differences have been considered in the sampling factor ‘Type of Work’ Within a project lifecycle group there is no impact of size on the process to be followed. Hence, all projects follow the same process irrespective of size.)
Organizational Structure (Not Relevant: This is one group across the two organizations where all follow the same process)
Type of Work: There is a differentiation based on the lifecycle being followed – Agile and Waterfall. Also, while most projects are micro controller based there have been power controller based waterfall projects which require changes in the engineering process to be followed. |
| Sampling Factor Values: |
Agile (Type of Work): Project following an Agile life cycle
Waterfall (Type of Work): Project following a Waterfall life cycle
Waterfall_Power (Type of Work): Waterfall project that is power controller based |
